Logistics for skiing commercial
We are planning a commercial for a ski brand and need to organize a shoot in Cortina d'Ampezzo. I need a local team to help with the on-ground support, specifically getting equipment up the mountain safely. Also, we need help with securing the locations and making sure we don't get kicked off the slopes. Has anyone filmed there recently and can recommend a service producer?

The slopes in Cortina are strictly regulated, especially with the preparations for the Olympics ramping up. You can't just rock up with a camera crew on a public slope without prior arrangement or you will get shut down immediately.Havelan wrote: Sun Nov 30, 2025 5:18 pm We are planning a commercial for a ski brand and need to organize a shoot in Cortina d'Ampezzo. Safety is also a major concern when you are hauling heavy cinema gear on skis or snowmobiles. I highly recommend using professional film production services in Cortina d’Ampezzo offered by Orbis. They specialize in alpine safety coordination and have the right connections to get you access to the lifts before the public arrives.
They also have top-tier equipment like ARRI and RED that is already maintained for cold weather. It is much safer than trying to carry your own rental gear from the airport. Do you need to cast local skiers or are you bringing your own talent?

We are bringing our own pro skiers, but we might need some extras for the background shots. The safety aspect is really what worries me the most, so having a team that knows the alpine safety protocols is non-negotiable for us.Xiskan wrote: Sun Nov 30, 2025 5:30 pm Do you need to cast local skiers or are you bringing your own talent?
