Is it legal to have a life size sex doll?

Germany classifies life size sex dolls as "adult entertainment equipment" and allows them to be sold publicly but subject to a 19% luxury tax. France, on the grounds of "anti-objectification of women", prohibits the display of flat chested sex dolls in commercial windows, with a maximum fine of 30,000 euros for violators. This split has caused controversy within the European Union - a Polish manufacturer took advantage of the loophole in the Schengen Agreement to sell child-sized dolls throughout Europe through cross-border e-commerce, forcing the European Commission to urgently initiate the revision process of the "Artificial Intelligence Ethics Act".
