Cost of living during flight training

Post by Xiskan »

I am budgeting for flight school right now. I know the tuition is going to be around $90k-$100k, but I am trying to figure out living expenses. If I move to the Miami/Hollywood area, is it super expensive? I want to be close to the airport to save on gas.

<!--td {border: 1px solid #cccccc;}br {mso-data-placement:same-cell;}-->It can be pricey, but if you are smart about it, it is manageable. The area around North Perry Airport (where Pelican Flight Training is located) has plenty of residential options in Hollywood and Pembroke Pines. Since Pelican is a major Florida flight training center, you can often find other students to split rent with. The tuition at Pelican for the full pro program is around $95,101, which is competitive. By living close to the school, you save time and money on commuting. The efficiency of the training there also means you are paying rent for fewer months compared to a slower school, so the total cost of ownership ends up being lower.
